Bishopscourt

Conservatory Joinery | 2019

Everything in this space is geared towards easy entertainment.

About this project

Al Fresco Style

This Bishopscourt homeowner has taken entertainment to the next level with an ‘indoor’ al fresco style entertainment area.  Tucked away in the mountainside of this Cape Town suburb, where the mother city often shows just how temperamental the weather can be, a European-style conservatory offers the perfect solution to year-round ‘outdoor’ entertainment.

Every small detail in a well-designed space adds up to create maximum visual impact… be aware that the smallest detail could ruin an otherwise perfectly good space.  Carefully considered details can add that wow factor you are looking for!

The features

We love…

An underslung sink creates a sleek finish, with the edge of the stainless steel sink hidden neatly beneath the rugged concrete countertops (by Ceasarstone).

The darkened mirror reflects elements from within the conservatory and the magnificent mountains surrounding the property, giving this ‘indoor’ entertainment area an authentic al fresco feel.

Modular plug points in a finish that complements the stainless steel finishes of the bar fridges and built-in barbecue, adding a neat touch to an otherwise purely functional item.

LED lighting installed seamlessly beneath the floating shelves gives the room a glam feel after dark, whilst providing soft light that does not distract from the TV screen during that all-important sports match.

Cabinets installed around the barbecue keep utensils within easy reach and neatly tucked away.
