LIVING SPACES

LIVING SPACES DEFINED

Any part of your home that is not dedicated to cooking, sleeping, or ablutions, would be considered a living area.  Living areas are the parts of our homes where we do more than just what is necessary for survival.  You might use a living area to work, entertain guests, relax, or pursue a hobby.  Whatever it is that you do in that space should be defined and facilitated by the fixtures within the space.

Perhaps you have a spare room that you would like to convert into a home office?  Maybe you have an area that you would like to socialise and entertain in?  Or, you might want to define your open-plan living area for specific activities.  Whatever your needs, we are here to design and create joinery that will help to define your space.

LIVING ROOM

The living room, or lounge, is probably the space where families gather most frequently in most homes.  Whether your family are avid readers, game players, or movie buffs, it is likely that you spend a fair amount of time relaxing in the lounge.  Naturally, what is required in a living room will vary greatly from home to home.

A lounge that hosts the weekly family game night, may require ample storage for boardgames, whereas a living room that serves mainly as a movie theater may require little more than a media unit to host the main event.

DINING ROOM

Dining rooms can vary greatly, from grand and formal, to cosy and quaint.  The dining room is also often the most multi-purpose space in the home – the table might be just the place for building a puzzle, for children to do homework, or for your latest idea or craft project to take shape – and that is why the fittings and movables that furnish this room are so vital.

A sideboard may be just what is needed in a home where family suppers and lunches are enjoyed around the table, whereas a home with keen crafters may require cabinetry with sufficient storage for all the odds and ends that could clutter up the space.

ENTERTAINMENT AREAS

Whether you entertain indoors or outdoors, who and how you entertain will determine what your entertainment area needs to make you and your guests feel right at home.  Having everything you need close at hand will take your entertainment experience to the next level.  Forget about having to haul the items you need from a storage space to your entertainment zone, and invest in the right furniture and storage units right where they are needed.  Whether it be a bar, shelving, storage for your barbecue accessories, a food preparation area – you know what will make your life easier and we are here to make it a reality for you.

HOME OFFICE

HOME OFFICE

Freelancers have been working from home for years, but for those of us that are used to going to work outside of our homes the thought of having an office at home has (in the past) been less than appealing.  That was until many of us were unexpectedly thrust into work from home situations during 2020, and the importance of the home office was suddenly much more significant than before.  Having a space at home where you can work productively is no longer a luxury, it has become a necessity.

After selecting the best space in your home for your office, deciding on the right furniture is the next step to creating a space where you are comfortable and can be productive.  Here are some questions to ask before setting up your home office: How much surface/desk space you will need?  How much shelf space for files, or storage for stationery, will you require?  Would a noticeboard to keep track of tasks make your life easier?  Do you need a place to store any special equipment?  Will you be hosting meetings in your home office?

After asking yourself these questions, you may find that ready-made mix and match furniture is not the best option for you, and that is where we come in.  We can create a home office space that has everything you need tailored to your unique way of working.  Whether you need specialised cabinets, a desk to suit your specific needs, or shelving that has to house or display something of an unusual size or shape, speak to one of our designers to find the perfect solution to your needs.
